The "Flowers in the Blue Sky" series.

I wanted to paint cherry blossoms in full bloom on a Noh stage.

What came to mind was,

"Yoshino Tennin"

She is a celestial maiden.

A Noh play set against the backdrop of Mount Yoshino in spring, when cherry blossoms are in full bloom.

In Noh theater, characters who have come from heaven or the afterlife wear Noh masks when they appear on stage.

Yoshino Tenjin also wears a Noh mask, but after spending hours creating lines with charcoal and kneaded eraser,

At one point, a real face appeared.

On that divine face

I was captivated.
