The Sai River and the Asano River flow parallel to each other on either side of Kanazawa Castle.

The Sai River, with its strong current, is called "Otokogawa" (male river).

The Asano River, with its gentle current, is called "Onnagawa" (Women's River).

I painted that Sai River.

Unlike Western watercolors, Japanese watercolors change color after they dry.

Especially when multiple colors are layered, it absorbs those colors and reveals an unexpected appearance.

That's interesting.

The colors are gentle, yet the painting possesses strength.

It possesses both softness and strength simultaneously, creating a sense of spaciousness.
