Kanazawa Castle was located in the area between the Asano River and the Sai River, and it was the heart of the Kaga domain, which boasted a million koku of rice production. Beyond the Asano River lies Higashi Chaya District, which exudes the atmosphere of the Edo period.

Wooden teahouses line both sides of the cobblestone street.

I painted a snowy scene of the Higashi Chaya district.

I depicted only what was necessary, as if to evoke the deep, serene space where snow is falling heavily.
