 The Seo family residence is located on the old Hokkoku Kaido road in Nonoichi City, which retains the atmosphere of the Edo period.

 In the past, Nonoichi was an important post town for travelers going to and from Kanazawa.

 During the Edo period, traveling on foot required either a horse or porters to carry luggage.

 The Seo family has traditionally held the important position of "Tenma Kimoiri," responsible for providing both horses and people for the transport.

 The horses and porters were used in a relay system, and they switched places at Nonoichi-juku.

 The current building is said to have been constructed during the Kansei era (1789-1801).

 I like the appearance of these traditional townhouses, with their distinctive vertical latticework.

 In this painting, the street is depicted in striking colors, conveying a sense of movement.

 After eating freshly cooked rice and miso soup, with steam rising from it, I said, "Now, let's go."

 Many people and horses must have enlivened this post town.
