The Gokyozuka archaeological site in Nonoichi City is the remains of a large settlement that spread from the late to the final Jomon period.

It is designated as a national historic site as a valuable archaeological site that offers a glimpse into the lives of people during the Jomon period, approximately 3,700 to 2,500 years ago.

It is said that no human remains from fighting and killing have been unearthed from Jomon period archaeological sites. I believe it was a society where people helped each other, respected the elderly, and worked together to survive even in the harsh natural environment.

Women in the Jomon period adorned themselves with wooden earrings and necklaces.

That shows how much richness there was in their hearts.

The Jomon people were the ancestors of the Japanese people who value harmony, and they must have been kind-hearted people who disliked conflict.

In this painting, a large open square is depicted.

The people who live in pit dwellings gather here when the sun rises and talk quietly.
