Snow Treasure

The Heart Series was born many decades ago in a small cottage surrounded by the Nuuanu forest on the island of Oahu, Hawaii.

I painted a large canvas with white Gesso paint and then painted over it with my fingers before it dried.

This time, I painted black gesso onto paper, let it dry completely, and then drew on it with Sennelier oil pastels.

This is a first attempt.

You can see that white and gold play an important role in making the heart glow.

The colors—blue, green, and yellow—are vividly displayed, with pink adding an accent and red providing the finishing touch.

Nevertheless, gold gives off a dazzling shine.
