I tried painting the Heart Series using Sennelier watercolors.

I also like darker colors like brown, dark brown, and black.

Sennelier's watercolors produce muted, almost dull colors that are remarkably pure and free from any muddiness.

In this Heart Series, black, dark brown, and other shades of brown occupy a considerable area of the image. Normally, this would make the entire image appear dark, but instead, it looks colorful. The yellow is not bright, but rather somewhat muted, and the other colors used, such as orange, blue, and green, are also understated.

Nevertheless, the image appears bright and colorful because the placement of darker, almost muted colors on the screen expands the color range from dark to light. For example, even a muted yellow appears brighter in the painting than it actually is.

However, to make it most effective, it is necessary to accurately assess the power of each color and achieve a perfect color balance.

Morning comes, then noon, and a peaceful afternoon gives way to night.

I look up at the sky, feel the greenery, and drink freshly brewed coffee.

It's a heart that exists within such a day.
