 The golden-eyed snapper is characterized by its large eyes and bright red body. It gets its name from the fact that its eyes glow golden when light hits them in the deep sea. It is not a member of the sea bream family, but rather the Berycidae family, and is apparently not related to the true sea bream.

 Speaking of splendid alfonsino, I absolutely love it simmered in a sweet and savory sauce; it goes perfectly with rice and beer.

 By the way, I've noticed that Japanese cuisine, unlike French or Italian cuisine, makes a lot of use of sweeteners like sugar and mirin. That's why the desserts served after the meal aren't heavy and sweet, but rather light and refreshing, I thought to myself as I dipped the snapper into the sauce on the plate.
