Go through the Tsuzumi Gate at the Kenrokuen Exit (East Exit) of Kanazawa Station and cross the pedestrian crossing.

Walk straight ahead, and you'll soon arrive at the location shown in this painting. If you continue walking this way, you'll reach Musashiga-tsuji, where the Omicho Market is located. It takes about 10 minutes.

The giant sculpture placed in the corner of the sidewalk is titled "Corpus Minor #1" and was created by a Finnish sculptor. The name is a play on words, combining "rust" and "sabi" (a Japanese aesthetic concept), and the artist says that "the changes in texture due to rust represent the development of the city and the changing times." Normally, one would think about preventing the artwork from rusting, but what's interesting is that the artist has turned the natural phenomenon of rusting into a work of art.

I always stop, look around for a while, and then pass by. I'm not sure if it's a habit from drawing, or if I'm always trying to find something, but I'm in a dazed state. I'm sure my mental antennae are out and about.
