 The view from the right side of the Kenrokuen Garden observation deck.

 In the foreground you can see Mt. Utatsuyama, located behind the Higashi Chaya district, and in the distance you can see the rounded peaks of Mt. Tomuroyama and Mt. Ioyama.

 I think this view hasn't changed much since the Edo period.

 What kind of feelings did people in the Edo period have as they gazed upon the mountains and the houses where people lived?
