Near Kenrokuen Garden, if you cross the road in front of the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art and turn down a narrow street, you will find the Kanazawa Municipal Nakamura Memorial Museum.

The museum displays tea ceremony utensils and traditional Kanazawa crafts collected by the late Eishun Nakamura, the head of Kanazawa Sake Brewery and also a tea ceremony practitioner.

I was drawn to this secluded, tranquil atmosphere and visited many times. The interior is very peaceful, and when I settle into the sofa on the first floor, I feel like I could fall asleep right there.

You can enjoy matcha tea with Japanese sweets while gazing at the Japanese garden that unfolds beyond the glass windows.

When I saw the Oribe ware plate made during Nobunaga's lifetime, I couldn't help but gasp in admiration. The depth and boldness of its muted green lines were remarkable. It transcends what we consider modern today; it possesses a unique individuality that defies categorization, created hundreds of years ago.

This painting was created using only Sennelier oil pastels.
