Between the "Ishikawa Fourth High School Memorial Cultural Exchange Hall" and the "Shiinoki Guest House," there is a narrow path lined with trees on both sides. This is "American Maple Street" in front of Kanazawa City Hall. "American Maple" is not "American Maple," but rather "American Sweetgum."

The autumn foliage of the American maple, which resembles the Japanese maple, is not just gorgeous, but overwhelming. Unlike seeing the vibrant autumn leaves of the mountains, away from everyday life, the autumn colors seem to intrude into daily life and spread out before you. "Ah!" I murmured in my heart.

I painted this using Sennelier watercolors and oil pastels.
