During the Edo period, a castle stood between the Sai River and the Asano River, forming the heart of the castle town. This remains true today; the Sai River and the Asano River, each encompassing distinct spaces, contribute to the unique character of Kanazawa. It's like the Edo period in modern times, and sometimes one might even wonder if modernity has somehow blended into the Edo period.

Why is it that watching the river flow calms my mind? My gaze turns towards the mountains, then rises into the sky. I will continue to paint the Sai River and the Asano River, to spread tranquility within my heart.
