I painted a picture of Uchinada Beach during the daytime, but this time I tried painting the sunset. The setting sun reflects off the waves.

Unlike her daytime paintings of Uchinada Beach, Kiyomi Kawasaki's framing draws the viewer's gaze far into the distance. Of course, the painting itself is done in this way, but the use of different colors in the two layers of matting further emphasizes this effect.
