I've painted sunflowers many times before, but I've never painted them as light and airy as these. Usually, my sunflowers are like burning flames, and their strength and presence dominate the canvas.

Under the blue sky, the sunflowers swaying in the breeze are like innocent children playing together. Watching them, my heart is also moved.

I used rough pencil lines and Sennelier watercolors. I added touches of oil pastel to the center of the sunflower and the bottle I used as a vase.

The blue background color appears to have faded above the sunflower in the center.

This is what's making the flowers sway.
