In Nonoichi, the famous cherry blossom viewing spot is the row of cherry trees along the Gokyozuka Babagawa Greenway.
I drew lines with a brush and then boldly depicted cherry blossoms in full bloom with Sennelier oil pastels. They look as if they could leap out of the frame at any moment. The touches of gold leaf give depth to the cherry blossom petals. Am I the only one who sees it as if a river is flowing upstream?
