This is the area below Kanazawa Castle, with Kenrokuen Garden to the left across the road. If you go straight down, you'll reach the Shiinoki Guest House, formerly the prefectural office, under the cherry blossoms in full bloom.
The three of them walking along looked somehow happy.
I carefully drew the cobblestones with a pen and brightened the area behind the three figures. This brings the spotlight to the three of them. The cherry blossoms in full bloom were painted with Sennelier watercolors and oil pastels using soft touches. By deepening the surrounding greenery, the cherry blossoms appear to be gracefully dancing in the air. I really love this painting.
